This is a lens based on Joseph Petval’s 1840s lens, which was revolutionary at the time – like proper revolutionary, not how we use that word so glibly now – and has now experienced a resurgence in popularity after “Poor Things”. The swirly bokeh and soft edges make it completely unique. It is just so tasty. This 80.5mm pairs well with our 55mm Petzval but that is in e-mount… The 80.5mm is in Nikon mount which we convert to Canon EF which then can be converted to any mirrorless mount. It’s a bit of a work around but these lenses are worth the fun. The 55mm is obviously limited to just e-mount bodies but our heart lies with Sony so we feel it is appropriate.
