Firstly, this panel is really powerful for its form factor... It is heavier than it looks in the picture but still possible to operate it handheld with the handles at the back. It's output is comparable to an Aputure Nova P300C which is really remarkable when you compare the sizes side by side. Obviously the Nova has the built-in diffusion to soften it from the get go whereas the MixPanel opts to give you more output without the diffusion and you can modify it from there. So an interesting feature of this panel is that it is technically two different LED sources in one panel... It has the regular grid of LED diodes that we expect from a panel (in RGBWW) and then it also has an LED strip on the outer border of the fixture which then hits a pitted surface to create a soft illumination. I'm still undecided on whether this is over-engineering or brilliant - you can let me know your thoughts!
We send the fixture out with a soft box and grid.
