DZOfilm's Vespids are incredibly popular and the Vespid Retros are just next level tasty goodness! There's no huge secret to what's going on - they have just put an amber coating on the lenses but it is a glorious coating! There has obviously been a trend for a while to use vintage lenses on modern sensors to try and get a bit more character / emotion back into them. However many of these vintage lenses are S35 so they don't cover "full frame" sensors and those that are, like the K35's, are in hot demand. This then lead to vintage stills lenses being rehoused and that's another schlepp and risk, particularly in rentals. DZO has the perfect solution with this limited edition set where you get full frame coverage and modern mechanics that aren't going to rip with your Nucleus M (and I also don't have to get a set of vintage lenses bought off eBay rehoused - yay). I love them! They have warm amber flares and cool tones which just gives a lovely aesthetic and something a bit different to a project. The flares are controllable so if you want to shoot clean(ish), you can, just make sure your matte box has ears.
